Happy Friday everyone! In case you all haven’t noticed, here in the JK office, food is a pretty big deal to us. We all really like to eat and talk about food. All the time. I guess we don’t have anyone to blame for that, other than… our parents. Growing up, we all had these crazy ass parents who force fed us these fucking delicious foods that made us really enjoy eating. It was a terrible way to grow up. Now we’ve all grown to be fatties at heart who daydream about some of our childhood home-cooked meals. Nostalgia is a bitch; especially when it comes to food.

What is your favorite home-cooked meal?


Bart: My favorite home-cooked meal is my dad’s Chilean sea bass. That shit is so bomb, I haven’t tasted a restaurant that can make it better.


Joe: HOT POT SHABU SHABU BABY!!


Geo: Pho, Fideo, and Hawaiian Style Fried Rice.


Casey: My favorite home-cooked meal would probably be anything my mom makes. I really can’t decide what I like best… everything she makes is good. Her cooking’s made with love lol. I try cooking and recreating things that she makes.. but it just isn’t the same. And now that I am away from home… every time I head back to Texas to visit… her food’s become very nostalgic. Every bite is a childhood memory, growing pains, past friends, good times, and family. I guess my favorite home cooked meal is in every sense of the word, “home.” It’s the ultimate “feel good food.”


Tommy: I usually make my own food, so I really don’t know. Grilled salmon with lime & pepper with a side of chicken salad [mostly spinach] and corn.


Kevin: My favorite home-cooked meal is whatever my grandmom cooks for me.


Anh: My favorite home-cooked meal would have to be my dad’s amazing steak, potatoes, and broccoli or my mom’s choice of noodle soups; from pho, to duck noodle, to her version of chicken noodle soup. Definitely comfort food, Asian style.


Anhieee: I love my mom’s pho. What’s awesome is that whenever she makes it, she makes it in a pot large enough to last a family of 5 for like a week straight. Pho all day, everyday.


Daniel: My mom makes a mean chicken and green bean casserole. I’m not quite sure what’s in it, but whatever it is, it tastes like YUM.


Bruce: My favorite home-cooked meal has to be my MOM’s cooking. Any food my mom makes is good! She’s got the good cooking skills! A yummy in your tummy!

Damn. Home sick. We’re all gonna go spend some quality time with our parents now. Remember to take your dads out for Father’s Day this Sunday! Go force feed them some delicious foods like they did to you your entire life. It’s payback time.
