How To Keep Your Shit Together

Happy hump day! Hope you guys are having an awesome week so far. Is anyone else pumped and feeling an extra need to go out and make shit happen from watching the Olympics?! No? Oh, okay. Well you should still go out and make shit happen! Everyday is a chance for you to do something new, shake things up a bit, and make a difference. So, get on it.

Today we’ve got another public (but very personal) message from JustKiddingFilms’ producer, Anh. She takes care of us, organizes our shoots, and makes sure we always have our shit together. Now she’s here to help you get your shit together too.

What’s the best relationship advice you can give someone?

Anh: My advice to you guys applies to all types of relationships, not necessarily just romantic ones. With any relationship in your life, I think that honesty and loyalty are the two most important things. A relationship is shit without those two things. You don’t truly love someone, whether it is a significant other or a friend, or even your mother or your father, if you can’t be honest or loyal to them.

Honesty means a lot of things in a relationship. To me, it means being able to express yourself, and being able to trust someone and all in all, trusting someone enough to freely express yourself. Loyalty for me means having the other person’s back and always being there for them. It means that when push comes to shove, all hands are on deck and no one is leaving the other behind. At the very core of a relationship, if you have both honesty and loyalty you are off to a great start and a lasting relationship.

Also, relationships take a lot of effort and that means an equal amount of effort from both parties. To me, a relationship where one person is not willing to put in the same amount of effort as the other person is not a worthwhile relationship and usually won’t last long. Know your worth and value yourself enough to not stay in a relationship where your partner is taking more than they are giving.

So let’s sum it up. No matter what type of relationship it is, always be sure that there is honesty, loyalty, and equal amounts of effort. If you aren’t getting at least those three things in a relationship, know that you deserve a lot more and seek to make the relationships that fulfill all three things thrive.

Now that you’ve got the goods, go ahead and apply it to your life. Your significant other, your friendships, your family, whatever. As always, let it soak in and really understand it. Then go share it with everyone you know. Cause sharing is caring. Appreciate and peace!
